Indiana Youth Soccer to Hold Annual Events this Weekend
The 2008 Indiana Youth Soccer Workshops and Annual Events weekend will be held this weekend at the Sheraton Hotel, downtown Indianapolis (formerly the Radisson City Center).

The weekend kicks off at 8am Saturday morning with a complimentary “meet and greet” continental breakfast for all attendees. A variety of current soccer event topics will be addressed in workshops to be held between 9am and 4pm. There will be sessions covering many aspects of soccer, including Parliamentary Procedures, US Soccer Academy, Pediatric Sports Medicine, Risk Management, Nutrition, Health and Safety for our players, Positive Coaching, the “Club Pass”, U9 Academy Program and others.

All Indiana Youth Soccer Club Presidents are invited to attend the 3rd annual President’s Luncheon. This event is complimentary for all club presidents (or their official designee) by invitation only and will be held at noon on Saturday.

On Saturday evening, Indiana Youth Soccer will host the Annual Awards Banquet which will include the induction of several deserving people into the Indiana Soccer Hall of Fame. Finalists for all the Indiana Youth Soccer Recognition Awards will also be honored, and the winner in each award category will also be crowned that night.

All member clubs should plan to send a representative to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Indiana Youth Soccer on Sunday morning. Held in the Meridian Ballroom (downstairs) of the Sheraton hotel, this meeting is the only official business meeting for the membership held annually. Bylaw amendments, elections and issues for the good of youth soccer are discussed. Again this year, Dorothy Demarest, PDR will be presiding over the meeting. If you have attended AGM’s in the past 5 years, you know of Dorothy and her talents for running a meeting and keeping it “on track”.

Also on Sunday, the Indiana Soccer League (ISL) will hold a manager’s meeting for all teams playing in the spring season. The day will wrap up with the open draw for the 2008 State Cup team bracket placements.

The 2008 Annual Events Weekend promises to be a valuable and informative weekend for our members. The board and staff of Indiana Youth Soccer look forward to seeing you there! Register online today! http://ssl.gcis.net/hhforms/IndianaRSS/AGMReservationsForm.html
