Goal Keeper Training

The Valley (Avon) -
Goal Keeper Training for U9-U12 Academy
In coordination with the Academy Technical Training program, we will also be offering Goalkeeper Training to our U9 thru U12 Travel Academy players. The schedule is as follows:
TIMES: 5:30-6:30pm (U11/U12),
6:30-7:30pm (U9/10)
DATES:
April 11, 18, 25 and
May 2, 9, 16
LOCATION: The Valley (Avon)
These times will not interfere with the Academy Technical Training, but will either precede or follow the technical session.
FOCUS: Through engaging and age-appropriate activities, players will develop positive footwork, effective catching technique, and shot stopping ability. They will learn about distribution and develop a better understanding of protecting the goal. At U9/10 we encourage any player who has interest in Goalkeeping, and desires to improve their skills, to participate in these sessions. In addition to these Friday sessions, Coach Schenk will also spend time with each age group during the week. In this environment, Goalkeepers will be challenged through similar activities and more functional training (incorporated with field players in directional small sided games). We hope everyone will take advantage of these training opportunities.
